John Taylor A Dream of England word document.
My thoughts on the FMP google classroom article
John Taylor
A DREAM OF
Without a tone one of sarcasm, attempting to read this article reminded me of the BBC comedy yes Prime Minister. It seemed to make no sense to the everyday reader. In essence the premise of the article was on how photography has changed our perspective on recording moments. Over the centuries we have gone from the taking word of mouth as a record to paintings progressing the development of photography.
The way images are recorded the male view point, this is a reflection of the inequality towards women who have had to fight to be heard and accepted in all social and economic domains, this reflected in how many women in history being hailed as high achievers in comparison to men in the same fields.
We are made to create our own image by what Jonathan Smith is describing, for we have no photograph to compare and judge in detail if what he is describing is true. His description is a view point filled with psychological rhetoric, my thoughts he is describing his own state of mind, being alone in that moment to take in the nature reflecting we are in tune with nature and the symbol of the shun shines on us all at some point. In the world we live in today especially important to stop and reflect on what we have as individuals rather than the consumer world we have progressively been bombarded with as a result of a rather development of the internet. It is good to stop and regain or rather see how we identify ourselves and take a moment to reflect a once the moment has passed we can’t go back, as Michael Kenna quotes
“ NOTHING IS EVER THE SAME TWICE BECAUSE
EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS GONE FOREVER, AND YET EACH MOMENT HAS INFNITE PHOTOGRAPHIC
POSSIBILITIES”

This a true reflection on life, each day is different, you can’t go back and recreate as no matter how much you try once its gone its gone and no matter how many people will see the same view everybody will have a different judgement of what has occurred. As for this article as students we will all come to a different conclusion.
